Evgeny Mironov

Russian theatre and film star, and internationally acclaimed artist, Evgeny Mironov took part in many international theatre projects directed by such stage directors as Peter Stein (Germany), Declan Donnellan (UK), Thomas Ostermeier (Germany), Alvis Hermanis (Latvia), Robert Lepage (Canada), Eimuntas Nekrošius (Latvia), Robert Wilson (USA).
Being one of Russia’s most prominent film stars, Evgeny Mironov appeared in Nikita Mikhalkov’s Burnt By The Sun and Burnt By The Sun 2, Alexei Uchitel’s His Wife’s Diary and Dreaming of Space, Mikhail Ptashuk’s August of '44. He also performed leading roles in a variety of TV-series, including Vladimir Bortko’s The Idiot and Gleb Panfilov’s The First Circle.
Born in 1966, in Sararov, Evgeny Mironov graduated from the Moscow Art Theatre Studio School (course mentor Oleg Tabakov), and joined the company of Oleg Tabakov’s Studio Theatre in 1990 as their principal actor. Since December 2006, Evgeny Mironov holds the position of artistic director of the State Theatre of Nations. Two times State Prize winner, and three times winner of the National Theatre Award “The Golden Mask” as Best Actor, Evgeny Mironov is also winner of the “Christal Turandot” (four times), International Stanislavsky Prize, Grand Prix of Geneva International Film Festival, and many others.
