Step into an intensive three-day masterclass with Wim Vandekeybus, exploring the physical and theatrical language of Ultima Vez.

Over three hours each day, Wim will guide participants to discover and sharpen their unique performance quality rather than simply reproducing movement. Through dynamic movement principles, improvisation, and theatrical exploration, participants will work with personal stories, instincts, and physical impulses to develop an authentic and layered stage presence.

This masterclass invites participants to use imagination to move beyond their own personality and step into fictional territories with courage. Through solo, partner, and group exercises, they will deepen their presence, strengthen their creative instincts, and explore the powerful connection between physicality and theatricality that defines the work of Ultima Vez.

Wim Vandekeybus is a Belgian choreographer, dancer, filmmaker, and founder of the internationally acclaimed company Ultima Vez. Since his groundbreaking debut What the Body Does Not Remember (1987), which earned him a Bessie Award in New York, he has become one of the defining figures of contemporary dance. His work is recognized for its visceral physicality, intense energy, and exploration of instinct, risk, and human emotion.

At the core of Vandekeybus’s artistic universe lies a fascination with contrasts such as chaos and control, body and mind, nature and culture. Blending dance, theatre, film, music, and visual arts into a distinctive theatrical language, he has collaborated with artists including David Byrne, Marc Ribot, Warren Ellis, and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Alongside his stage productions, he has directed several dance films and the feature film Galloping Mind (2015). His creations for companies such as Batsheva Dance Company, Rambert, Royal Swedish Ballet, and Opera Ballet Vlaanderen have further established his international reputation.
