Meetings and classes with great artists - Luk Perceval

Luk Perceval is a Belgian theatre director, actor, and writer internationally recognized as one of the most influential voices in contemporary European theatre. Born in Lommel, Belgium, in 1957, he began his career as an actor before founding the experimental company Blauwe Maandag Compagnie in 1984, where he developed a distinctive theatrical language based on psychological intensity, radical reinterpretation, and collective creation.

Perceval gained international acclaim with productions such as Ten Oorlog! (Schlachten!), his monumental adaptation of Shakespeare’s Wars of the Roses, widely considered a landmark of modern theatre. He later became Artistic Director of the National Theatre of Antwerp, transforming it into Het Toneelhuis, and worked as resident director at Schaubühne Berlin and leading director at Thalia Theater Hamburg. His productions, presented at major international festivals and theatres, are celebrated for their emotional depth, visual power, and exploration of memory, violence, identity, and European history.
