The Misunderstanding - one of the essential plays by Albert Camus, in a captivating directorial version
By: Albert Camus
Directed by: Bobi Pricop
Romania
TNRS Main Hall, 19:00

The show brings one of the essential plays by Albert Camus to the public, in a captivating directorial version. We invite you to a new performance by Bobi Pricop, a metaphor about the “misunderstanding” between the members of a family that reflects the conflicts, but also the means of salvation, of a world in a state of emergency. "Misunderstanding is one of the seminal plays of the 20th century, a text more relevant today than ever, because it speaks of loneliness, alienation, the masks we wear in our various social roles and, above all, the impossibility of communicating authentically, especially with the people closest to us. The show also becomes valuable through the new emphases it emphasizes in Camus' text and is primarily an x-ray of the surface differences we allow to separate us, despite all the things we have, in depth, in common." - Bobi Pricop

Performance presented in Romanian, with English translation

ALICE - “JTI Encounters” - An unusual world of wonders, with a strange and psychologically tense atmosphere
Directed by Po-Cheng Tsai
China
Cultural Center “Ion Besoiu”, 20:00

Featuring impressive choreography, haute couture costumes and an elegant set design, “ALICE” lures us into an unusual world of wonders, with a strange and psychologically tense atmosphere. At the crossroads of Western and Eastern culture, the show weaves poetry with fairy tale, evoking a labyrinth of mirrors, artistic projections and black and white ink illustrations. Born from a collaboration between choreographer Po-Cheng Tsai's B.DANCE company and Kathleen McNurney's Luzerner Theater dance troupe, “ALICE” is a reimagining of the classic novel, where the fantastical world of wonder meets Zen art. Rarely has Lewis Carroll's novel been revisited with such bold artistic insight. Elegant, refined, masterly.

Frida Kahlo - a performance that, through Frida's story, urges us to turn our sufferings into the main source of inspiration
Choreography: Silvana Neda
Romania
Cavas Auditorium of the “Lucian Blaga” University Sibiu, 20:00

The performance proposes to the audience an overview of the biography of the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, an image that exposes the artist's mental degradation due to trauma, all this through the theatrical-choreographic discovery of the pictorial fantasy, supported by the invocation of the plastic universe of surrealism. The choreography captures the physical and psychological profile of the artist, embodying the fragility and at the same time the shattered reality of her fantasy. It is a performance that, through Frida's story, urges us to turn our suffering into our main source of inspiration.  An impressive choreographic portrait of one of the great figures of universal art.
