Day Two of FITS 2025 kicks off the Special Conferences Series: Alexandru Tomescu: “I’ve always felt that music should be close to people, no matter where they are.”

The second day of the Sibiu International Theatre Festival opened with a special conference bringing together Alexandru Tomescu, Dragoș Ilie, and Octavian Saiu in a captivating conversation about the FITS 2025 Opening Concert.

As part of the FITS Talks online series, writer Marius Chivu sat down with Florin Țicu, Deputy Director of the “Radu Stanca” National Theatre Sibiu, to explore the essential relationship between major cultural events and public institutions — a key component in the success of a festival the size of FITS.

The day also featured the second performance of No Yoghurt for the Dead, a production directed by the acclaimed Tiago Rodrigues, inspired by a true story about the director’s own father.

The poetic and cutting-edge production of Medea-Material, presented by the Turkish State Theaters – Ankara-Istanbul, captivated audiences at Filarmonica de Stat Sibiu with its haunting take on the ancient tale.

As part of this year’s Italian Season, Elena Ledda & band, an iconic voice of Sardinian folk music, enchanted the audience in the Biserica Evanghelică Sf. Ioan with a musical performance that felt like a prayer — emotional and sacred.

In Sub Arini Park, the Firescu Family delivered a heartwarming and humorous contemporary circus performance, delighting audiences of all ages.

The evening continued with an awe-inspiring display of aerial acrobatics, collective choreography, and striking visuals in Piața Mare, presented by Elementz Art, and concluded with a FENOMENTAL concert by Romanian rock legends Vița de Vie.
