Sibiu, 24 June 2026 – The sixth day of the Festival began with two Special Conferences: Marcel Iureș and Alexandru Dabija in conversation with Matei Vișniec, followed by Ofelia Popii in conversation with Octavian Saiu. Both events were met with an overwhelming response from the audience, filling the Hall of Mirrors to capacity.
As part of the online programme FITS Talks, writer Marius Chivu was in conversation with Oana Ciucă Lazar, founder of Capital Cultural magazine.
The U.talk series, moderated by Ion M. Tomuș, featured a special moment as Constantin Chiriac, President of FITS, received the title and Diploma of Excellence, "Lifelong Learning Visionary Education Ambassador," in recognition of his contribution to the field of education. The distinction was awarded by the non-governmental organisation EUROLINK – House of Europe, founded in 1997 and a member of the European Network for Education and Training (EUNET).
Incendies, nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category at the UNITER Awards, was performed in the Large Hall of the "Radu Stanca" National Theatre Sibiu.
Audiences also attended the second performances of Dance for Me by Granada Flamenco Ballet, Zack. A Symphony, presented as part of the German Season, and Baal – Brecht's First Play, a compelling production exploring contemporary morality and the limits of acceptance.
GRO(O)VE (Grove), co-produced by UNITER and the "I.L. Caragiale" National Theatre Bucharest, filled the Lulu Hall at Fabrica de Cultură with a performance that perfectly embodied the spirit of FITS—a celebration of joy, artistic vitality and a moment of pure grace.
The sixth festival day concluded in the Grand Square with Encounter with the Little Prince, inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's timeless masterpiece The Little Prince.
