The final day of the Festival began with two unique events: the Special Conference featuring Akihiro Yamamoto in conversation with Octavian Saiu, and the meeting between painter Ștefan Câlția, director Silviu Purcărete, composer Vasile Șirli, and writer and diplomat Emil Hurezeanu. The Hall of Mirrors was filled to capacity—perhaps more than ever before.
Hundreds of artists delighted audiences with theatre, dance, contemporary circus performances and concerts presented across multiple venues, churches, public squares and streets throughout Sibiu and its surroundings. Sunday surpassed all expectations, bringing more people to the streets of Sibiu than ever before.
The final indoor performance of the Festival was the ever-popular Faust, once again presented to a sold-out audience.
The French company Plasticiens Volants captivated spectators with The Great Expedition, while Horia Brenciu & HB Orchestra concluded the programme in the Grand Square with a concert lasting over an hour.
Just before midnight, the traditional drone show illuminated the skies above Sibiu with the message "From Soul to Souls."
"This was the 33rd edition of the Festival—a deeply symbolic number. We faced many challenges, but thanks to the dedication of the Festival team and God's help, we successfully overcame them all. None of this would have been possible without the support of the authorities, our partners, and above all, His Majesty, THE AUDIENCE! We will take a few days to catch our breath before beginning preparations for next year's edition, which will take place between 18 and 27 June 2027," said Constantin Chiriac, President of FITS.
