A press conference was held today in Sibiu which launched the schedule of performances for the 32nd edition of the Sibiu International Theatre Festival (FITS). On this occasion, Constantin Chiriac, the Festival President and General Manager of TNRS, announced the publication of this year’s festival program on
https://www.sibfest.ro/. The tickets will go on sale, starting Wednesday, April 23rd so, those interested have two weeks to consult it and to decide which performances they wish to attend from June 20th to June 29th.
The festival website offers information about the Indoor shows performed by world-renowned artists, as well as the impressive Outdoor performances to be held at this edition. This way, members of the public can easily plan their schedule in order to fully enjoy the complete experience offered by the Festival.
Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, April 23rd, starting at 12PM, online, on FITS website, as well as at the Theatre Agency, located at 17, Nicolae Bălcescu Street.
This year’s theme – THANK YOU – represents the link between generosity, joy, the power of giving, emotion and the relationship between artists and public, mediated by everyone who contributes to supporting this miraculous process.
To show the appreciation to the public, Constantin Chiriac announced that the ticket prices will remain unchanged this year, keeping the same level as the previous four years, despite the significant increases in costs, especially when it comes to logistics. In addition to the hundreds of free entry events, tickets will have the same prices they have had since 2021 until now, ranging from 30 to 150 lei. There will also be discounts for people from vulnerable groups.
During the conference, the FITS President also announced the first six names to be granted a star on the Walk of Fame. Actors, directors, choreographers and playwrights will be celebrated in Sibiu and they will become a part of the Festival history, along with the other 70 names already on the Walk of Fame.
At the moment, the six confirmed celebrities are: American actor Bill Murray, American actress Kathleen Turner, Nigerian writer Wole Soyinka (winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1986), Japanese actor Kuranosuke Sasaki, Belgian choreographer Alain Platel and French playwright and director Alexis Michalik.

Listen to Me, a show featuring Kathleen Turner, between theatre and contemporary circus, on June 26th and 27th.
Intra Muros, a creation by Alexis Michalik, on June 24th and 25th at the State Philharmonic.
Coup Fatal, a music and contemporary dance show created by Alain Platel & La Comédie de Genève, on June 27th and 28th, at the Fabrica de Cultură – Eugenio Barba Hall.
The Seer, a show by Milo Rau & Schaubühne Berlin, on June 21st and 22nd at the Fabrica de Cultură – Eugenio Barba Hall.

The next press conference will take place on May 29th and it will focus on the FITS partners, as well as the special events (conferences, exhibitions, workshops etc.) included in the program.
