Constantin Chiriac: “I wish to personally thank Rector Sorin Radu for the exceptional conditions created this year to bring the Doctoral Platform to life—together.”

On Friday and Saturday, the inaugural sessions of the International Doctoral Research Platform in Performing Arts and Cultural Management convened under the theme “The Art of Saying ‘Thank You’: Theatrical and Cultural Diplomacy.” Moderated by Octavian Saiu, these debates brought together leading figures from 49 universities worldwide.

Associated events continue throughout the festival via the U.Talk dialogue series—moderated by Ion M. Tomuş—as well as a host of related activities:

“This year’s International Doctoral Research Platform in Performing Arts and Cultural Management boasts extraordinary participation. Forty-nine universities are represented by exceptional personalities from the world of performing arts. Beyond our two main days of joint sessions, we will welcome renowned experts throughout the festival— they will hold keynote lectures, book presentations, hands-on workshops, and roundtable conversations with Phd and Master’s candidates of the Sibiu Doctoral School, and anyone passionate about education and research in the performing arts.

“I wish to personally thank Rector Sorin Radu for the outstanding facilities provided to the Department of Theatre Arts at the Faculty of Letters and Arts—ULBS, including the newly inaugurated building on Banatului street. His support has been crucial in creating this Doctoral Platform, as well as the Festival of Theatre and Cultural Management Universities. Thanks to these superb conditions, we’ve fostered a true meeting of professionals, enabling the Festival’s long-standing achievements to flow into research dissemination and educational outreach. In keeping with our theme, there is nothing more fitting than a heartfelt ‘THANK YOU!’— Constantin Chiriac, President of FITS
