The “Poetic Consultations” project organized by Sibiu International Theatre Festival (FITS) and “Radu Stanca” National Theatre Sibiu (TNRS), in collaboration with Théâtre de la Ville from Paris, Teatro della Pergola from Florence, will be presented on October 3rd and 4th during the Francophonie Summit. The event will take place at CENTQUATRE in Paris, an architectural space dedicated to innovation and creation, which will host a variety of cultural and artistic events, having an area of 2,000 square meters.
The TNRS actresses, Mariana Mihu-Plier and Raluca Iani, will offer the French public “Poetic Consultations.” A poetic consultation is an individual 20-minute conversation with an artist. It starts with a simple question: “How are you?” Based on each patient’s answer, a poem, a dance or a song is selected and performed by the artists.
The project aims to bring the theatre and its activities closer to the local communities and to contribute through culture to the care and image of each partner city for its inhabitants and visitors. It is a way to connect internal and external spaces: theatres, but also squares, parks and other nonconventional places in the city.
The delegation from Sibiu will be led by Constantin Chiriac, the FITS President and TNRS General Manager, along with Viсențiu Rahău, curator and coordinator of FITS Indoor section. The two will participate in a series of meetings and conferences during the event.
In France, Romania will highlight its large international music, performing arts and cinema festivals. For the “La Roumanie, j’en ai envie!” theme, Romania will show how collaboration between artists, cultural and educational institutions and authorities in the Francophone countries can transform art and culture into essential instruments for improving and diversifying the world. The event will highlight Francophone solidarity and its contribution to creating a vibrant and diverse culture.
