“The Glass Garden” performance is based on the novel of the same name written by Tatiana Țîbuleac, awarded the European Union Prize for Literature. The performance is built around Lastochka, a seven-year-old orphan who was adopted from a rural orphanage by a Russian woman, Tamara Pavlovna. The girl is brought to Chișinău and educated in the atmosphere of the courtyard of a block of flats from the Soviet era. The perpetual existence of the unloved child, the search for identity and her becoming – here is one of the central dimensions of the performance.
"It is not just an artistic act, but a dialogue between past and present, a reminder of what has shaped us and how we continue to define our identity."
