The Glass Garden
By: Tatiana Țîbuleac
Directed by: Petru Hadârcă
"Mihai Eminescu" National Theatre, Chișinău

“The Glass Garden” performance is based on the novel of the same name written by Tatiana Țîbuleac, awarded the European Union Prize for Literature.
The performance is built around Lastochka, a seven-year-old orphan who was adopted from a rural orphanage by a Russian woman, Tamara Pavlovna. The girl is brought to Chișinău and educated in the atmosphere of the courtyard of a block of flats from the Soviet era. The perpetual existence of the unloved child, the search for identity and her becoming – here is one of the central dimensions of the performance.

"It is not just an artistic act, but a dialogue between past and present, a reminder of what has shaped us and how we continue to define our identity." (Mariana Marin)
