David Greig’s "The Events" is a powerful and thought-provoking drama that delves into the aftermath of an act of extreme violence. At the center of the play is Claire, a priest and community choir leader, who survives a mass shooting and embarks on a deeply personal journey to understand why such atrocities happen. In her search for answers, she confronts the perpetrator, explores the ideological and psychological roots of extremism, and ultimately wrestles with the limits of forgiveness. Premiering at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh in 2013, it featured musc by John Browne.

An authentic and incisive x-ray of the cruelty of contemporary society. But also a questioning of the possibilities of saving ourselves together.
