The time of collections on the path of becoming: from a museum of ASTRA Association to ASTRA Museum ! A discourse about the Object that become Heritage Item !

1905 | The Museum of ASTRA Association had to “present an instructive ethnographic icon about the entire present life of our people, on all its levels of manifestation, in one word all the products that denotes the striking features of the soul and body of our people and the manifestations specific to thought, work and of its entire life.”

2025 | ASTRA Museum (re)invents itself through a scientific introspection process based on collections, but also on the openness through the community it belongs and serves, taking into account the real needs of the beneficiaries. Throught the way of communicating the museum collections they become relevant for the contemporary generations.

Through convergent thematical discourses we create the dialogue between the objects collected between 1905-1950, market with their original inventory numbers, and the objects purchased in the last months ! Together they are the identity of an innovative Museum!

The scenario of this journey connects the feasts of the traditional world and the emblematic projects of the Museum, blending heritage items without taking their power to share their message. Taken out of its ethnographic context and brought to the museum, the object states what it used to be, what it represented in the daily life of the people, becoming a piece of art.
