There's a stage we all see, a story told by actors, a light that captures our gaze.
But behind the curtain, in the shadows of backstage, lies another story.
It's the story of hands that build, arrange, fix, and prepare.
These are the hands of wigmakers, technicians, make-up artists, tailors, set designers - of all those unseen individuals who make the magic possible.
The exhibition "Hands that Hold the Silence" brings these essential presences into the light.
Through black-and-white photography, we focus on the profound expressiveness of
faces and hands, capturing them in moments of effort and dedication. Each image is a silent "thank you", a recognition extended to those who, year after year, with passion and tireless work, weave the invisible threads of the Sibiu International Theatre Festival.

Look at these faces. Look at these hands.
They carry history, labor, and a deep love for theatre. They are, in essence, the hands that hold the show.
