On Phenomena and Existence
Performance by: Johanna Øyno
Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo

“On Phenomena and Existence” refers to two concepts considered fundamental in both philosophy and art. In phenomenology, a phenomenon is the direct experience of reality as we perceive it. This ties closely to the performance’s exploration of the body’s physical presence—how it experiences time, space, and gravity through movement and rhythm. The piece dives into the immediate, the physical “phenomenon” that arises in the encounter with the audience.

An intelligent and introspective performance, a journey of self-discovery.
