Photo Exhibition The “Faust 300” exhibition invites audiences on a visual journey into the world of one of the most celebrated productions in the history of the Sibiu International Theatre Festival and the “Radu Stanca” National Theatre Sibiu. Conceived in 2025 as a tribute to the more than 300 performances of Faust, directed by Silviu Purcărete, the exhibition brings together photographs and archival video materials documenting the life of this landmark production.
The exhibition is structured into three thematic sections. The first is dedicated to the original 2007 production of Faust, presenting iconic images from a performance that has become a defining reference point of contemporary European theatre. The second section offers a behind-the-scenes perspective, exploring the production’s creative process and its extensive international tours, documenting the extraordinary journey of the performance and its encounters with audiences around the world.
A special section is devoted to the stage designs and sketches created by Helmut Stürmer, the production’s scenographer. A major figure in European stage design, Stürmer left an indelible mark on contemporary theatre, and his passing represents a significant loss for the international artistic community.
