Cristian Mungiu is one of the leading European filmmakers of his generation and a defining figure of the Romanian New Wave. A writer, director, and producer, he entered cinema history in 2007 when his film 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
