Suwa-no-Yataro of Naniwa holds a memorial service to mark the 13th anniversary of his child’s passing. Meanwhile, in Kyoto, a mother celebrates her son’s 13th birthday when he unexpectedly recalls a past life, naming his father as Suwa-no-Yataro. Determined to uncover the truth, mother and son journey to Naniwa, arriving at the very temple where Yataro grieves. Upon seeing Yataro, the boy is overcome with emotion, leading to a heart-rending reunion. Yet, aware of the fleeting nature of their encounter, they part with deep love and understanding, cherishing the bond that transcends lifetimes.
