Bodies of Prometheus

Painting and Graphic Art Exhibition

The exhibition Bodies of Prometheus brings together large-scale drawings and paintings created by Botond Részegh between 2024 and 2025. Structured as a visual journey across two complementary spaces, the exhibition explores the inner tension of the human body—between trauma and ecstasy, fear and pleasure—through distorted, dramatic, yet expressive anthropomorphic figures. Each work invites introspection, functioning as an open narrative frame in which the viewer projects their own experience. Részegh blends expressionist gesture with rigorous minimalism in a profound meditation on vulnerability and strength, building a visual discourse charged with energy and ambiguity.
Botond Részegh, born in 1977 in Miercurea-Ciuc, is one of the most active Romanian artists of his generation. His work spans various artistic media, including painting, drawing, and photography. He has established himself as a prominent figure in exhibitions and collections in both Romanian and international museums and private galleries. Részegh has developed a series of artistic projects that explore complex social, scientific, and psychological themes, and his artistic practice is deeply rooted in interdisciplinary visual research.
