“Offending the Stage” is a performance about the limits of political theater, about the frustrations of those who step onto the stage to “change the world.” About us, the artists. About you, the audience. About what unites us in the darkness of the auditorium, even when everything seems lost.
Sivan Ben Yishai writes this text as a contemporary response to Offending the Audience by Peter Handke, the 1966 manifesto-play that radically questioned theatrical conventions and transformed the spectator’s passivity into an act of awareness.
A sharp, self-aware performance that questions theatre, truth, and our role as spectators.
