The dream believed in by over 14,000 contributors has become reality: the Grivița 53 initiative has transformed into Teatrul Grivița 53, a space dedicated to independent creation, experimentation, and collaboration—open to artists seeking freedom of expression and to audiences eager to discover a new kind of cultural experience.
The official opening was marked by the premiere of “5+3=9”, a performance created by Ștefan Lupu, inspired by the untold story of Teatrul Grivița 53—from its first idea and earliest supporters to its unspoken challenges and the launch of its inaugural season.
Nine years of hallucinatory events, situations on the edge of fiction, and many achievements driven by boldness, instinct, and the energy of an extraordinary community have come together to shape the story of a dream: “5+3=9”.
A manifesto-style performance about the courage to build the impossible, born from the energy of a community that refused to give up.
