The exhibition features paintings and graphics created by students and graduates of the "Ilie Micu" Popular School of Arts and Crafts in Sibiu (Painting and Graphics Section), inspired by the outdoor performances from the previous edition of FITS, which they attended and visually documented on the spot. The sketches, studies, photographs, and impressions from the festival were later incorporated into the works presented now in the foyer of the Astra County Library (Biblioteca Județeană Astra).
The authors of the works span different ages, some being beginners while others have won prizes in painting and graphics competitions over the years of schooling and have already participated in numerous group exhibitions (the Rod collective being the most eloquent example) or even solo exhibitions. However, they are all united by the desire to visually express themselves through the exploration of various media and techniques, offering viewers a rich palette of perspectives and emotions, each creation contributing to the artistic landscape with a distinct and authentic voice.
The outdoor performances were both an opportunity and a challenge to communicate personal stories through images, enriching the artistic experience for both creators and those who have admired and will admire their works.
Furthermore, the live drawing & painting workshops continue this year at FITS, where artists will strive to capture the scenes, characters, decorations, and atmosphere of the festival. Based on these visual notes, they will then create paintings destined for future exhibitions.
