Rohee
Performance by: Simon Senn / Rohee Uberoi
Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne & Compagnie Simon Senn
Switzerland, India

International premiere

Simon Senn met Rohee Uberoi, an Indian dancer, during an online artistic residency in Bangalore. Together, they decided to record and encode the movement of Bharatanatyam, an age-old dance of  which Uberoi is a practitioner. This process would however prove to be at odds with the traditions of her teaching… Their performance recounts both their experiences of this attempt, repeatedly blurring the boundaries between ancient rituals and modern technologies, identities and digital archives, traditions, transculturality and self-perception.

Innovative and challenging. A show that bridges tradition and modern technology to deliver a memorable experience.
