The story originates from the Chinese Tang Dynasty legendary novel “Ren Hu Zhuan” (Man Tiger) later adapted as “The Moon Over the Mountain”. The choreodrama version of “Man Tiger” is an adaptation which combines these two version.
Set in the Tang Tianbao period, it follows the story of Li Zheng, a proud and arrogant poet who abandons his official position and pursues a literary career, only to end up achieving little. Li Zheng metaphorically transforms into a tiger chasing the moon because of his regrets and remorse, as his inner world gradually loses control, struggling, faltering, colliding, and descending into madness.
An impressive revisitation of the mythical age of humanity, in a choreographic performance of dreamlike expressiveness.
