For the past 42 years, Tim Robbins has served as the Artistic Director for The Actors’ Gang, a theater company he co-founded in 1981 that has over 150 productions and more than 100 awards to their credit. 
Robbins’ productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, George Orwell’s 1984, Harlequino: On to Freedom, Embedded, and The New Colossus have been performed in five continents throughout the world and in forty US states. In addition, Robbins’ stage adaptation of Sister Helen Prejean’s Dead Man Walking has been performed in over 150 universities in the U.S. and abroad.
 
The Actors’ Gang has reached and continue to reach thousands of children with their transformative education programs and their groundbreaking and nationally recognized Prison Project currently operated in 2 juvenile detention centers, 2 re-entry facilities and 12 prisons in 14 yards in the state of California and in Tecate, Mexico.
 
As Artistic Director, Robbins has trained hundreds of actors and provided a fertile ground for the development of emerging playwrights and directors for the past 40 years.

As Director: Ubu the King (2022, 1982), We Live On (2020), George Orwells’ 1984 (2006-2019), Johnny Got His Gun (2018), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2012-16), Mephisto (2001), The Good Woman of Setzuan (1991), and Methusalem, The Eternal Bourgeois (1985).
 
As an Actor: credits include Bull Durham, Jacob’s Ladder, The Player, The Shawshank Redemption, Mystic River, The Hudsucker Proxy, Dark Waters, Catch a Fire, The Secret Life of Words, Code 46, Cinema Verite, The Brink and the current Apple TV series, Silo.
 
As a Producer/Writer/Director for film: credits include Dead Man Walking, Cradle Will Rock, Bob Roberts, and Embedded Live. His most recent film, 45 Seconds of Laughter, debuted at the Venice Film Festival and the New York Film Festival in 2019.
 
Robbins has won the Academy Award, three Golden Globes, the SAG award, Humanitas Award, National Board of Review, the Prix d’Interprétation Masculine at the Cannes Film Festival and the French Officer de L’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
