June Premieres on The Digital Stage: Curannera and The Trial

The Digital Stage– the online platform for theatre, film, music, circus, and dance by the “Radu Stanca” National Theatre Sibiu (TNRS) and the Sibiu International Theatre Festival (FITS)– welcomes its audience in June with two new productions that explore profound themes through innovative artistic languages:

1. CURANNERA: In Italian folklore, curannera was a healer – a woman of the people who practiced traditional medicine, using elements of nature to soothe both body and spirit.

The muse of the Taranto-based ensemble Yaràkä is, by essence, a bridge between seemingly distant cultures. Their repertoire is rooted in a ritualistic culture: each song tells the story of an exorcism of a soul’s torment or evokes a deep-seated fear that blocks the flow of energies – fears which find healing through an ancestral song.

2. THE TRIAL: Kafka’s Trial captures the surreal feeling of being suspended between a dream and a distant memory. Joseph K’s story traverses themes of time, dream states, the afterlife, healing, and consciousness.

His journey reflects our everyday struggle — one in which we often feel overwhelmed by the unanswered questions of the future.

Both productions will be available on the Digital Stage starting June 1st.
