The performances of the Israeli companies Vertigo Dance Company and Kibbutz Contemporary Dance at FITS 2025 have been cancelled
The performances that the Israeli dance companies Vertigo Dance Company and Kibbutz Contemporary Dance should have held at Sibiu International Theatre Festival have been cancelled because of flight bans in Israel.

Since 2020, we have encountered a series of hardships in organising the Festival, from the COVID pandemic to the Ukraine war. We can see that another war has just begun and, unfortunately, two of the world's leading dance companies, Vertigo Dance Company and Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, whose performances are sold-out, cannot leave Israel’s territory because they do not have any flight opportunities. We are forced to refund the tickets you have purchased and, in the short time we have left, try to schedule other performances for the four days in which Vertigo and Kibbutz should have held theirs.
All our efforts go towards scheduling other performances and we will do our best to come back with new proposals these days. We hope that the joy of meeting in the name of emotion will never again be eclipsed by the war spectre.” declared Constantin Chiriac, the Festival President.
Vertigo Dance Company was scheduled to hold the Mana performance twice, on the 22nd and 23rd of June, at Centrul Cultural “Ion Besoiu” while Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company should have been on the same stage on the 24th and the 25th of June, for two performances of The Director’s Cut – Best of Kibbutz.
In addition, the workshops with the choreographer Noa Wertheim, on the 20th and 21st of June, the workshop with Grace Ward and Colette Rheude on the 23rd of June, as well as the special conferences with Noa Wertheim (23rd of June) and Rami Be’er (24th of June) have also been cancelled.
The online performances of these two dance companies will be available according to the initial programme: Mana – from the 23rd of June, 5 PM, for 24 hours and The Director’s Cut – Best of Kibbutz – from the 25th of June, 5 PM, for 24 hours. The price of a ticket is 30 lei.
Those who have purchased tickets for the cancelled performances on Entertix.ro website will receive the value of their tickets from Entertix.ro on the card they used to make the payment in the following days. Those who purchased tickets at the TNRS Theatre Agency are expected at the agency to get their tickets refunded.
