The Sibiu International Theatre Festival marks the first and last day of the 2022 edition with an impressive drone show performed by the EVSKY team!

The show, entitled #findBEAUTY, is a first in the history of FITS and replaces the famous fireworks that lit up the sky at previous editions.

The Sibiu International Theatre Festival takes place between June 24 and July 3 and is the biggest celebration of the performing arts! For ten days, the city and its surroundings will host more than 3,500 participants from 75 countries, and the public is expected to take part in more than 800 events held in 80 performance venues.

"We listened, as we always do, to the voice of the Sibiu community which suggested to us that fireworks are an extremely popular form of show and appreciated by the public, but not very friendly to the environment. Moreover, FITS always brings its audiences the latest technologies put at the service of the performing arts. We have VR, we have virtual museums and much more, so it was natural to take this step from the light of fireworks to the magic of the 200 drones in the #findBEAUTY show" - Constantin Chiriac, President of FITS and General Director of TNRS.

The EVSKY show is inspired by the theme of this year's edition - BEAUTY - and takes up the organizers' call to find Beauty in everything that surrounds us, in nature and people.

“The concept of a drone light show starts with an idea, then the icons are drawn and a design team translates them into animated images. The collaboration with FITS includes the creation and execution of two different shows, as well as the presence of two UAS pilots and an on-site team.” Mădălin Preda - Creative Director & Project Manager of EVSKY.

The drone show is integrated with a laser show and creates a visual and auditory event of epic proportions, the musical concept being authored by composer Vasile Şirli. The exceptional soundtrack that enriches this performance - two monuments of universal music directed by maestro Sergiu Celibidache - contributes to a unique artistic experience: "Romanian Rhapsody no. 1" by George Enescu (historical recording from 1978) and "Ode to joy" by Ludwig van Beethoven.

Directors Bobi Pricop and Alexandru Condurache are part of the team behind this grandiose project.
